Em meio ao noticiário sobre migrações e refúgio no mundo, como enxergar possibilidades de um mundo mais justo e inclusivo, independente da origem da pessoa? Não é preciso ir muito longe para conhecer, aqui no Brasil mesmo, exemplos de ações que mostram esse caminho possível.
Uma delas é o MemoRef (Memorial Digital do Refugiado), que já foi matéria do MigraMundo em julho passado. Ele tem o intuito de dar assistência a refugiados recém-chegados ao Brasil por meio de aulas de português e atividades culturais para promover a integração à comunidade. E a partir dos resultados dessas ações será feito um acervo digital sobre para embasar futuros estudos sobre refúgio – com lançamento previsto para o final do ano.

Agora, o MemoRef inicia uma nova fase, depois de conseguir o amparo do Edital ProCultura Estudantil 2015, da Unifesp (Universidade Federal de São Paulo), permitindo a ampliação e consolidação da iniciativa. As aulas acontecem semanalmente na universidade, todas as quartas-feiras no campus de Guarulhos (SP).

“Agora podemos dar pra eles um material que produzimos, caderno e caneta. E efetivar a criação do Memorial. Com a verba, até pudemos chamá-los para a abertura e oferecer comida brasileira pra eles”, resume a estudante Marina Reinoldes, coordenadora do MemoRef, destacando tanto a primeira aula pós-edital e o evento de abertura, que reuniu dezenas de pessoas no Teatro Adamastor, também em Guarulhos, no último dia 31.
Os alunos do projeto agora contam com o “Recomeçar: língua e cultura brasileira para os refugiados”, material didático pensado nas especificidades dos refugiados. As aulas são semanais e ministradas por voluntários.

Apoio de professores e alunos
Um bom indicativo do papel que o MemoRef vem desempenhando na Unifesp junto aos refugiados é o retorno que o grupo tem recebido tanto dos professores da universidade como dos próprios alunos.
A professora de inglês Sueli Fidalgo, por exemplo, considera o MemoRef uma inspiração por aproximar a universidade da comunidade e mostrar que existem estudantes que olham para o mundo de uma outra maneira. “A gente tem pouquíssimos projetos de autoria dos alunos e esse, em especial, é humanizado. É inspiração porque dá motivação pra gente se dedicar e preparar aulas melhores também. É bom saber que a Unifesp tem alunos diferenciados”.
“Vejo o MemoRef como um projeto fundamental para a formação humanista das estudantes envolvidas e também pelo aporte intelectual que imigrantes que se exilam em nosso país podem nos oferecer. O contato com o outro, numa relação horizontal, é o único caminho para que nos conheçamos a nós mesmos”, destaca Ivan Martin, professor de espanhol. “É muito importante para tentar diminuir a exclusão, a invisibilidade e o desconhecimento que muitos têm sobre a realidade dos refugiados”, lembra a professora de espanhol Graciela Foglia.

Os alunos do MemoRef também manifestam a gratidão com o projeto, seja nas produções em sala de aula como em postagens nas redes sociais. “Olá. Mrs. Marina muito obrigado pelo apoio a nos ensinar Português. Deus abençoe cada um de vocês que tem tempo para nos ajudar. Sou muito grato. Eu estou feliz que você tira tempo para nos ajudar. Não temos nada para dar em troca, mas eu sei que Deus tem a sua recompensa para você e os outros professores.”, escreveu um dos estudantes. “Acho que isso já diz muito”, completa Marina.
O respaldo dos professores se soma ao edital e ao retorno dos próprios alunos sobre as aulas mostra bem qual será o grande desafio a seguir do MemoRef. “Acho que o maior desafio que teremos pela frente é a ampliação do projeto. Vontade não nos falta, com certeza. E vamos lutar e cobrar por isso até o fim”.

MemoRef starts new phase and improves work with the refugees in Guarulhos (SP)

Among the news about migration and refuge around the world, how to see the possibilities to have a world more fair and integrated, no matter from where people come?
It is not necessary to go too far to know that, even here in Brazil, examples of the actions have shown that this path is possible.
One of them is MemoRef (Memorial Digital of Refugees), which was subject of MigraMundo on July. It aims to assist newly arrived refugees to Brazil through Portuguese classes and cultural activities to promote the integration into the community. And from the results of these actions it will be made a digital collection, base for future studies about refugees – scheduled to be release later this year.
Now, the MemoRef has started a new phase, after to get the support of ProCultura Estudantil 2015, from Unifesp (Federal University of São Paulo), allowing to expand and consolidate the iniciative. The classes are given weekly at the University, every Wednesday at Campus of Guarulhos (SP).
“Now we can give them the material that we produced, notebook and pen. And create the memorial. With funds we also can call them to the opening and offer the brazilian food to them.” says the student Marina Reinoldes, coordinator of MemoRef, highlighting both the first post-announcement lecture and the opening event, which brought together dozens of people to the Northwind theater, also in Guarulhos, in the last 31.
The students of the project now can count with “Start (New Begining): Language and culture of Brazil for refugees”, material designed about the specificities of refugees. Classes are weekly and taught by volunteers.
Support from teachers and students
A good indicator of the role that MemoRef has been doing at Unifesp with the refugees is the feedback that the group has been receiving from the teachers of the University and from its own students.
The English professor Sueli Fidalgo, for example, considers the MemoRef an inspiration to put the comunity and the university together and show that there are students who look at the world in another way. “We have very few authoring projects of the students and that, in particular, it is humanized. It is inspiring because it gives motivation for us to engage and prepare better lessons too. Good to know that the Unifesp has different students. ”
“I see the MemoRef as a key project for the humanistic education of students involved and also the intellectual contribution that immigrants exiled in our country can offer. The contact with each other, in a horizontal relationship, is the only way for us to know ourselves, “said Ivan Martin, a professor of Spanish. “It’s very important to try and reduce exclusion, invisibility and ignorance that many have about the reality of refugees,” recalls a Spanish teacher Graciela Foglia.
The MemoRef students also expressed gratitude to the project, either in the productions in the classroom as posts on social networks. “Hello. Mrs. Marina thank you for supporting teaching in Portuguese. God bless each one of you who have time to help us. I am very grateful. I’m glad you take time to help us. We have nothing to give in return but I know God has His reward for you and to the other teachers. “Wrote one student. “I think it says a lot,” added Marina.
The support of teachers adds to the announcement and to the return of the students about the classes, and shows what will be the great challenge following the MemoRef. “I think the biggest challenge that we are going to face is the expansion of the project. We have will enough for sure. And we will fight and charge for it until the end. ”
